Sesame cupcake and Blair with a hot dog

I finally took a picture with all of them together! and realized that there was no purple character in sesame street ... they should recruit Barney

How corny! Probably because of the corn dogs I made earlier...haha. But I did make baby back ribs and glazed them with honey barbeque sauce.

I also added my july fourth flag cake to the table- it is topped with blueberries and strawberries

I think this picnic table is becoming a july fourth barbeque picnic.

And for all of you who asked about the paper plates : a quick tutorial! All you need is the perfect egg carton. I will try posting a pic of the brand when I go grocery shopping next time, but if you look closely on the bottom of the carton, there are parts where it has contours that look like plates. You need a mini eye to find this- be crazy!

Corn Dogs and Paper Plates

I found the corn dogs! They were hiding under the cupcakes ; ) And I also made some paper plates in prep for the picnic. I wonder if I should paint them white or red....or blue....

I have also been making stud earrings with my food and ran out of ideas....since I only make studs, I'm out of flat and round food.

Grilled Cheese

I made some grilled cheese and tried to make some chips (hehe Kim~) but failed miserably. I also made some corn dogs but don't know where I put them! My workspace is a total mess...

And to Paul, if you are reading, I used wooden sticks that they sell at the craft store for the planks on the picnic table, and I use a panasonic DMC-FP8- which I do not recommend! Mine has an internal zoom ( I think thats how they call it) and isn't good for mini picture taking. But it's great if you have kids and want to take spontaneous pics since it starts up in like 1 second.

Hot Dogs

Moving on with my picnic contest, I made some hot dogs! In the beginning, I was going to make ones with  ketchup and mustard only, but couldn't resist and top it all with onions and relish. I mean, who doesn't like onion and relish? (Actually, I didn't like it until I was 12 so....that would be me)

I made extra buns and grilled sausages

and some cinnamon rolls since I had cinnabon last night  ;)

what next? I was thinking some kind of sandwich....grilled cheese or panini~

Watermelon

I stained the picnic table, but now its orangish -so would like to make some changes.

I saw a picture of a picnic with a watermelon cake, so decided to make one.

and then of course I had to make the real one ; ) The one on the bottom right are half eaten ones.

New project

I have finally joined Deviantart after seeing Cindy's post, and will participate in a contest hosted by http://semi-sweeties.deviantart.com/. Actually, I don't know if I'll end up participating, but for now, its like my new years resolution. The theme is picnic, so I made a picnic table and some hemp baskets : )

I still need to paint the basket, but I'm pretty excited that it actually looks like one!

Valentines

It feels like V-day is already over for me... and I'm moving on. I finally got my lightbox (but apparently, it doesn't seem like I know how to use one). Next on my list are flowers~ I was at borders the other day and saw beautiful flower arrangements that I wanted to make in minis. We'll see how that turns out :)

Grasshopper Bars

 This used to be my favorite dessert in college. I think I went too far for the realistic look with everything lopsided and smudgy. I actually took the time to swipe down the syrup for the "just-cut" look.

Someone will appreciate it... I hope! (fingers crossed)

Next on my list will be valentine's cakes. Just to let you know, this has been on my list since last year (what a procrastinator!!).

Mardi Gras King Cake

I made some King Cake (Victoria guessed right!). For those of you who may not be familiar with this (I only tried this once myself) it is a ring shaped cake with a baby Jesus inside, and whoever gets the baby Jesus is the winner.

My friend Sally sent me some beads, and coincidentally, they were gold and green!

and good news to all of my blog friends: I finally got a photo lightbox!!! It will arrive next week. No more crappy pictures!

Danish Pastries

This is what I've been up to this past week! I think I made one a day. Started with the cherries and realized how much cherries I had to roll...and the next day I had the blueberries and that was two times (or maybe three times) the amount! No more rolling for a while.

These are the first pastries I made but didn't quite like the color of it.

Pineapple

I finally started the big "pineapple project" as my first 2011 challenge. Surprisingly, I got the texture on the 3rd try, but still need to make some tweaks here and there.
