Ta-da! Not a very good picture I know, still haven't gotten a light box.

Candy Cane and Cookies

After watching people make candy cane on tv, I decided to use their method with polymer clay, and it actually worked!! Got a little carried away and made them in all sizes (this picture only captures 1/4 of what I made).

Bree & Bynn with their own

And then I decided to make cookies with candy cane bits.( I apologize for the picture quality. Will purchase a light box very soon.)

Tropical Fruits

Made some mangoes and papaya last night so I could take pictures of them in the morning in natural light. But it's pouring rain and no sunlight : (  It's time for me to get a lightbox.
I used polymer clay and pastels to color it up.

halved papaya and the rest in a wooden bowl

I never knew papayas were so bruised outside until I made them yesterday. It took a while just freckling and bruising it up!

Tudor Boar's Head

Finally finished the boar's head (babe). Decorated the platter with plums, red apples, gala apples, bartlett pears and holly.

Ikura sushi and a fruit bowl

I am currently still working on the boar's head (remember babe?) and I needed some fruits to decorate the platter- so I made some extra for a fruit bowl. While making the bananas, I realized how bruised they were in real life...made me sad.

And I got bored and made my favorite ikura sushi in 1:12. The eggs seem a little too big for the size, so I will try making it in 1:6 or 1:8. I bought the bigger version at Haneda airport for like $13 and actually felt good about it (this is how much I like this sucker!!).

Christmas Sweets

I wanted to join my fellow miniaturists in their holiday spirit and created some christmas cookies and cupcakes. Obviously Brynn wants the cupcake to herself.

I also tried to make Dorothy shoes, but as you can see it was a total failure. The glitter is all over the place (even for the 2 seconds I try to snap a picture...) and my fingers got too sticky and gooey and what a mess!

Cookie Monster

My favorite character from Sesame Street used to be Big Bird and the Cookie Monster, so when I saw the cookie monster cupcake, I HAD to make one for myself! (In mini of course...)

Since I'm almost sold out on cookies, made some more :)
Only if it was real, I would be eating them right now...and adding more pounds to the holiday weight ;P

Christmas Potpourri

I made some christmas potpourri bowls with pine cones, cinnamon sticks and holly. Merry Christmas!
Look at how messy my tile is :)

Poinsettia

Since everyone is getting ready for christmas, I decided to hop in too. I made these flowers and sprinkled them with a little glitter.
I'll probably make more and use it to decorate candles or a wreath.

Boar's Head

I have been putting off my customer's order of a boar's head since I suck horrendously at making anything with eyes. However, it's almost christmas dinner time in the mansion, so I gave it a try:

sleepy...

1st attempt looks like a pig...maybe an ugly version of babe

2nd attempt

wonder how the 3rd attempt will turn out!

By the way, I hate how my pictures are so yellow/orange!! I must buy a light box.

Seashells

These may not be handmade, but they are handpicked!

these are actually smaller than it looks...which also means that my eyes were about to explode after picking 4 of them.

Sweet Potatoes

This is what I've been up to lately:
My husband really liked it and wanted me to make some more, so I made a whole batch. But he was confused at how they all looked different, doubting my professionality. I just replied that I wanted to give it some "character". They look like Christmas Carolers :)

Show

Has anyone been to the Molly Cromwell show? It is happening in my area, so was wondering if I should participate in one. This will be the first time for me, so please give me some advice!

Fail

It happens when you least expect it! My first (and hopefully last) burnt tray of minis. I love how I can't even remember what some of them were supposed to be! But they were mostly roll cakes and donuts.

Red Leaf Lettuce

I really want to move on from this lettuce business...I really do. Only if I can make it perfect... My customer wanted red-leaf lettuce for her seafood platter. Used translucent polymer clay and acrylic paint.

Funny lettuce

I made lettuces today- and boy is it hard! First I started with a cane and FAIL! So then I started rolling the clay so the colors would blend in..............somewhat got the color, but not the texture is the problem. Does anyone know the perfect tool for lettuce texture? I used aluminum foil ( I know, I know, so stupid). This is a custom order, and it's not like I can give up now :( my client has been really excited about this and I can't let her down now!! OK enough for today.
P.S. the oysters are made of polymer clay :)

Oysters!

Hello everyone! and Welcome to my new followers! I was busy working on the "oyster project". It took me forever to get the oyster right...and the shell of course is still a little funny....but no one will see it since it is the bottom - right? (please say I'm right)
The oyster shell-experimenting with the colors.
