Donuts

I finally got my lazy self to make donuts in all scales for this photo shoot- but looks like Maru isn't too happy!

1:3, 1:6 and 1:12

I also decided to change my bakery shop into a donut shop- I will post more photos of the very empty shop later in the week.

Also, today is the last day to enter my giveaway! I will announce the winner tomorrow :)

1:6 Crayons

Blair drawing up a storm rainbow.
(The rainbow and the house is the only thing I know how to draw...)

I finally had a chance to take a comparison photo with the 1:6 and 1:12 crayon sets. Enjoy!

AG doll food 1:3 scale

It is always fun to make 1:3 scale food since it's sooooo much bigger than 1:12 scale. 1:3 scale items take up a lot of clay so you have to be consistent with the colors, but the good thing is that it doesn't hurt your eyes as much!

Balloon Animals

I've been making a lot of non-food minis lately, and it's because I ran out of foods to make. I am always asking the hubs for ideas and I think it drives him crazy! Anywho, I wanted to make Maru a toy, so I made her a Jeff Koons inspired (he was probably inspired by the actual balloon) poodle balloon.
The ones behind the poodles are giraffes. Making them was trickier than I expected, but I somehow managed to find the perfect amount of liquid clay so the neck/head doesn't plop. *These are made from polymer clay.
Enjoy your weekend!

Chalk and Crayons

Chalks

Do you like the drawings? The house is how I used to draw every picture in my sketchbook...I guess I had little imagination.

Etsy Front Page

My "vintage" planter made it to the front page at 5 in the morning.....while I was sleeping...

You know something is wrong when there are more than 5 favorites on an item you have listed days ago. So I checked my stats and noticed the numbers for today looked like my week stats, so I checked the vault! Thank god for this useful site, you can check all the past etsy front pages.

It is a little embarassing though to have a plant go up on front page instead of food. Maybe I should change my name to Minnie Garden ;P

Flower Cakes for the Weekend

Have you ever tried edible flowers? I tried it when I was in kindergarten and I remember making sure with my teacher that I wasn't going to die by eating flowers :)

The baby blue reminds me of the marie antoinette movie- remember the baby blue converse?

Also made one in pink!

And a group shot with Maru.
Have a sweet weekend!

Cheese

Cheese display- the wood is not finished and a plexiglass is in front of it to keep it sanitary :)

I wasn't familiar with most cheeses, so google search helped me a lot (like it usually does) lol!

I upgraded my cheese display with more cheese and signs inserted in them.

I found a perfect glass dome to display my cheese in!

Some basic cheese on a tray with figs~

Rainbow

I made the hello kitty cake that has been going around pinterest- if someone made me a real one I would have died!

I made sure a slice had kitty's red ribbon.

I also tried making the rainbow lollipop they sell at Disney World.

Angry Birds

I made some angry bird cookies for a customer in 1:12 scale. I am very bad at making or drawing anything with eyes, but angry birds are somewhat simple looking! It also helped that they were flat cookies instead of 3D cupcakes :)

This one is 1:3 scale for an American Girl doll collector.

Next cookie character is Kermit! Did you guys watch the new muppets movie? It's awesome!

Veggies

Maru's weekday job selling vegetables...

I got a veggie crate request in quarter scale. My eyes almost became cross-eyed by the time I finished, but I love how it's sooooo small! Oh, and all the veggies were loose, so me being me, I of course had to drop it on the floor (which is carpet) and had to do a massive search for 20 minutes.

I also made a garlic braid which is very fun to make!

Succulent Plants

I fell in love with succulent plants after seeing them at a furniture/home interior store, so I had to make it in mini.

This actually made it to the front page of etsy!!

You don't know how excited I was! I kept checking my shop stats and number of favorites every other second...literally :)

My best selling plant.

I was able to find a bigger pot, so made one in 1:3 scale for my AG doll collectors.

Welcome to minniekitchen.com!

Hello everyone! I am back (it took quite a bit!) with a new address- www.minniekitchen.com
For the few posts, I will be posting up minis that I have been making since I last updated...
Thank you for coming back to visit my blog!
I have been wanting to make miniature candy boxes everytime I walked through the candy section in the target aisle- finally did it!

Maru found a new job- selling candy!

Closer look: I also made the candies to go inside the boxes.

Although this is not my favorite candy (can't stand the spice in licorice!) this is my favorite in mini. Real scale, 1:3 scale and 1:12 scale.

This is my upgraded version of my s'mores prep board. Looking back at my original one makes me cringe...can I say embarassssssing!

I have been making some prep boards, and realized that I needed a lot of butter, eggs, and flour.....so I made a baker's supply collection. But the genius I am, I took the photo without the sugar box...I guess that could be a "sweet" surprise for the customers!
